After a long run (in relative terms, given the typical span of the modern career position) in corporate publishing, Patrick set out on his own in 1996 as a full-time freelance journalist.

     Over the course of the next five years, he published more than 250 paid, bylined articles for a wide array of magazines, newspapers, websites and other publications.

     His published magazine and newspaper work includes technical articles about many aspects of the electronics industry, features about arts and entertainment personalities and events, and news reporting about a variety of fields, including state and local government and medical business and technology.

     Pat has authored monthly columns about
     • state and local government (civic.com magazine and website);

     • hi-tech marketing (Portable Design magazine);

     • and the electronics industry (electronicsweb.com website),

    • and he was also a featured weekly columnist in his hometown newspaper, the Peekskill Herald; and wrote a monthly column in Rhythm and News magazine.

     The move to full-time, periodical-length assignments was a natural one for Pat, as he had regularly written for publication on a part-time basis since 1982. As his writing career approached the twenty year mark, he assembled an online retrospective portfolio of his published work that includes a complete list and many samples of the nearly 500 total articles he published between 1982 and 2002. The portfolio site, which has recently been redesigned, is available at:

     Although he has in recent years been primarily involved with long-form projects, Pat welcomes interest from editors and publishers who are in need of freelance reporting and writing help. He can be reached via e-mail or at (914) 736-5525.
